 | Aldie's First Fire Engine
This used 1948 Chevrolet fire engine was Aldie VFD's first fire engine. This engine cost $5500, and served Aldie until 1972 when it was destroyed by flash flooding during Tropical Storm Agnes. Photo credit unknown.

| |  | Former Wagon 7 - 1996 Pierce Dash
This unit ran as Wagon 7 from 1996-2007. This unit had a 430 hp Detroit Diesel engine, a 1500 gpm pump, a 750 gallon water tank, and a 7.5 kw Onan generator. A good portion of this truck was paid for by donations from the Gudelsky Family and Chantilly Crushed Stone. This photo was taken while the unit operated at a working house fire on Lime Kiln Rd. The 1981 Mack MC that ran as Engine 7 from 1981 to 2005 was sold to the North 48 Volunteer Fire Department in Cleveland, Oklahoma. This unit had a 750 GPM pump, a 750 gallon water tank, and a 3.5 kw generator. Photo courtesy of the North 48 VFD.

This 1978 Mack MB ran as Wagon 7 from 1978 to 1996. It had a 210 HP Diesel engine, 3.5 kw Onan generator, 750 gpm pump, and 750 gallon water tank. It was Aldie's first Diesel fire engine and the first with rear seating positions for firefighters. The bulk of the cost of this unit was paid for by a generous donation from the Gudelsky Family. Shown in this photo is the 1989 Mack MC/Ward '79 tanker shortly after it's arrival at the firehouse. This unit had a 750 gpm pump and a 1250 gallon tank and ran as Tanker 7 from 1989-2005. Photo credit Mike Carter.

Around 1974, Aldie VFD placed it's first brush unit in-service. This International pickup was the only green piece of apparatus ever owned by Aldie, and it was eventually painted red by the firemen. Aldie firemen proudly stand beside their brand-new 1964 American LaFrance fire engine. This engine cost a whopping $17,000. This unit ran as Engine 7-1, (later changed to Wagon 7) from 1964 to 1978, and as Engine 7 from 1978-1981. Photo taken beside the old fire station, which was located in front of the current station.
