In the months following Tropical Storm Agnes, the USGS and NOAA studied the flood levels. In this photo, (the original report has no legible photos), the 100-year flood stage is about 2.5 feet above the road surface at the immediate end of the bridge (roughly the top of the dumpster). The 500-year flood stage is about 6 feet above the road surface at the end of the bridge, or roughly the top of the SUV that is crossing the bridge.
