m. – 3:00 p.m., drivers will experience temporary stoppages on eastbound and westbound Route 50 just west of the roundabout at Route 15. The road will not be closed to traffic, but drivers should expect delays. Construction crews will be installing a traffic signal in front of the new Aldie Fire and Rescue Station.

He was buried in a casket that was made by a fellow firefighter and longtime friend. The weather was perfect for graveside services, and the service was officiated by a LCCFRS volunteer chaplain. And, per his request, we do not believe that anyone’s fishing plans were interrupted!

The following are visitation and service information for Fire Chief Buzzy Carter: Visitation with the family and friends will be on Tuesday, October 15, from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Leesburg VFC Old Town Station, 215 Loudoun St SW

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, October 16, at Sharon Cemetery in Middleburg, near Jay Street and East Federal Street.

Buzzy specifically requested to not have a formal Fire Department visitation and funeral. Come as you are. If you want to wear a uniform, that is fine as well. All are welcome.

No Caption This morning we loaded two pickup trucks full of fire hose, tools, EMS and fire equipment, personal protective equipment, and other items that will be delivered to fire departments in NC, TN, and/or SW VA who lost everything in the floods

We have been in their exact situation, having lost most of our equipment and a fire engine when Tropical Storm Agnes struck our fire station and community in 1972. Floodwaters from Little River were 5.5’ deep in our station during that flood.
