Much of the area is now under a Moderate (Level 4 of 5) Risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Widespread damaging wind gusts are likely, with potential for locally destructive winds. Tornadoes and large hail are also possible. Stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings!

Some perspective: This is the first moderate risk for severe weather for much of our forecast area in at least 10 years.
