By Loudoun County Government News Release
August 31, 2023

Per Loudoun County News Release:

Beginning the week of September 4, 2023, weather permitting, construction will begin on the new Aldie Fire and Rescue Station, in Aldie. Contractors will begin installing stormwater management controls, relocating utilities, and clearing trees along the Route 50 corridor, west of the roundabout intersection on Route 15. Drivers should expect minor delays, use extra caution when traveling through this area and follow all directions from the posted signs and road crews.

The existing Aldie Fire and Rescue Station will remain operational throughout the duration of construction. Construction is expected to be completed in winter (January, February, March) 2025.

The new 23,000 square-foot station will be constructed in Aldie, Va. to replace the existing building, providing an updated and accessible facility for the Aldie Volunteer Fire Department. Features of the new facility will include apparatus bays, bunkroom facilities, a training room, a break room, restrooms and showers, food preparation and dining areas, laundry and decontamination areas, supply storage, a gear and hose drying area, a breathing apparatus air compressor room, a fitness room, offices and a repair shop.

In addition to the new facility, site improvements for this project include two entrances off Route 50, access and parking areas, a well and septic field, lighting, landscaping, and a storm water management pond.
