The current Aldie Volunteer Fire Station was built in 1971 entirely with community funding adjacent to the original Aldie Fire Station, which was previously used as a garage and blacksmith shop. The original station was torn down immediately after the current station was occupied.
The current station is overcrowded and cannot support additional personnel. It sits within 100 year flood plain of Little River and has flooded numerous times, including during Tropical Storm Agnes in 1972, which destroyed one fire engine and damaged two others when flash flooding left water 5' 6" deep in the building.
